She is leading the laboratory & scientific research operations, especially the R&D forefronts, strategizing,  executing & delivering all the critical science & engineering projects as well as expanding the business development efforts  in the company.
She has overall more than 12 years of leading R&D experience in conducting cutting edge as well as  state of the art research on several fields such as immuno-oncology, nanomedicine, clinical research, virology vaccines and immunology & leadership.
She is a Dynamic team leader with a love of mission-driven companies, award winning scientist with a strong background in vaccines & immunoassay development, >12years resulting in cross-functional collaborations, acquired funding of ~$30M, patent, proposed funding of $800M, 7 publications & editor of high impact factor peer reviewed scientific journals. Dr. Basu has served as the Clinical Immunologist in an Infant Formula based biotech company, Helaina Inc. where she generated & led innovative strategies on product development including tailoring needs of infants formula from nutrition only to complete bioactive immunity building nutrition for infants.  Dr. Basu was responsible for strategy, framework and execution of immunological mechanistic assays for future bioactive product development of infant formulas.  She was additionally responsible for the overall Design, conduct, supervision of  ex vivo/in vivo experiments & clinical trials internally and/or through external collaboration or CRO research. while building relationships with FDA.
Dr. Basu has also gained experience as a Research Scientist at TechnoVax Inc. designing and developing a novel virus-like particle based Universal Flu vaccine from mammalian cells combining in-silico, in-vitro and in-vivo mechanisms. Dr. Basu was also working to develop a reporter-based neutralization test for testing SARS-CoV-2 by reverse genetics.
She has a solid scientific and research expertise on overall design, development and generation of virus-like particle vaccines based on phage display as well as mammalian cells against flaviviruses, alphaviruses and papillomaviruses; resulting in 7 peer reviewed original publications in prestigious journals like Vaccine, Antiviral Research, Virology Journal etc. during her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Michigan Technological University. Apart from that, she has also developed novel phage platform for antigen display, processing and recognition using thermophilic phages which led to several research grants. She has won Songer Research award for writing grant proposal and conducting research on development of phage VLP based candidate vaccines against Zika and Chikungunya viruses.
Dr. Basu also serves as a guest review editor of many scientific peer reviewed journals including Frontiers of Immunology, Plos neglected tropical diseases, Plos pathogens, Aging, Cancer Immunology Immunotherapy and others. She has won several awards and grants for giving oral talks and poster presentations in more than 10 scientific national and international conferences. Dr. Basu has also received her M.Sc in Molecular Biology and genetics from the prestigious Presidency University, India and her Bachelors in Zoology from Calcutta University, India. She graduated from both the universities with a First-Class distinction and gold medal.
When she is not engrossed in fighting viral diseases & cancer, she is usually reading detective fiction books, science fiction stories as well self development books on leadership & improving businesses.
