Each HBA Region is home to a Volunteer Department, which is responsible for all aspects of the volunteer journey in the region. Their focus is regional volunteer leader recruitment, placement, tracking, development and recognition activities/initiatives. The primary Volunteer committees are:
- Volunteer recruitment: focus on volunteer recruitment strategies to fill open leadership positions; maintains regional leadership list, tracking open opportunities and potential successors across the region/chapters; works to understand prospective leaders’ goals/desires from a leadership position to place them in the appropriate role.
- Volunteer engagement: focus on ensuring leaders are recognized for their efforts during their volunteer journey to facilitate volunteer satisfaction and retention; tracks leader and volunteer recognitions across the region/chapters and ensures reward benefits are presented to award winners; executes the Annual Awards program across the region in Q3-4 and assists with the Volunteer End of Year Awards Event; produces social media content to highlight the successes within the region.
