HBA's chapters are led by chapter board and committee members, who work to create the member experience within their local geography. By working as a team in a specific functional area, committees accomplish the chapter's goals in the areas of:
- Membership: to engage and orient new members, practice radical hospitality and introduce HBA to Corporate Partner employees
- Volunteer engagement: to place volunteers in suitable and satisfactory roles, track committee members and recognize outstanding volunteers
- Marketing and Communications: to market/promote chapter events, communications with members and social media
- Programming: to develop event content, plan event logistics and secure venues/liaise with sponsor venues during event planning
