The 2025 European Leadership Summit (ELS) event will take place at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre from 12-13 June, attracting an in-person gathering of over 300 industry leaders in the EMEA and globally. Applicants may apply for a one or two-year term and serve up to two terms in the same role.

Member Leader Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with amplifying event promotions on LinkedIn and other social media channels in alignment with HBA’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. 

  • Participate in promotional videos for the event. 

  • Pursue company sponsorship to attend the European Leadership Summit event on 12-13 June 2025 in Dublin, with potential travel on June 11. Please note: all travel expenses related to attending the event are the Member Leader’s responsibility and cannot be reimbursed by HBA.  

 

Member Leadership Team Roles: 

  • Social Media Marketing: 

    • Collaborate with HBA Marketing staff on marketing initiatives, with a focus on leveraging social media platforms to maximize outreach and engagement. 

    • Oversee EMEA member recruitment efforts and provide onsite support for photography and videography sessions at ELS events. 

    • Language review of programme materials to ensure alignment with Euro English 

    • Staff Lead:  Laura Kaflik, Director, Marketing 

  • Member Engagement: 

    • Plan and manage HBA Engagement table activities in collaboration with EMEA Director of Engagement, including material preparation and staffing coordination. 

    • Recruit onsite support roles, such as event registration and bag preparation. 

    • Support the planning and onsite execution of the Member Leader Social. 

    • Staff Lead: Kayla Brennan, Senior Manager, Global Conferences and Events  

  • Sponsorship Engagement: 

    • Assist with identification and connection of potential sponsors in collaboration with Account Management. 

    • Support the planning and execution of the Corporate Sponsors Marketplace. 

    • Staff Lead: Amanda Cortinas, Account Manager, Corporate Partner Engagement 

  • Corporate Partner Engagement: 

    • Support the EMEA Director of Engagement in development of Corporate Partner Engagement event programme and activities. 

    • Manage invitations and registration process for the Corporate Partner Engagement Event. 

    • Staff Lead: Amanda Cortinas, Account Manager, Corporate Partner Engagement 

  • Programming (x2 roles) 

    • Review trends in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry that are relevant to content and identify potential areas for innovation. 

    • Collaborate with HBA staff to identify target audiences and their needs and interests 

    • Collaborate with HBA staff to establish goals for content, formats, and speakers in alignment with the HBA mission, strategic plan, and target audience needs and interests. Collaborate with HBA staff to select speakers and to encourage the alignment of sponsored sessions with conference goals.  

    • Staff Lead: Telesia Davis, Ph.D., Vice President, Global Education, Conferences, and Events

Requirements: 

  • Must be an HBA member who has attended at least one in-person European Leadership Summit. 

  • Must have served in at least one HBA member leader role. 

  •  Commitment to one-hour, bi-weekly meetings from January to June. 

  •  Pursue company sponsorship to attend onsite meetings and events from June 12-13, 2025, with potential travel on June 11. 

  • Applicants for a two-year term must be willing to continue in the role through 2026, with specific dates and location for the 2026 ELS to be confirmed. 

 

Desired Capabilities:  

  • Communication – excellent communication skills for liaising with HBA staff, team members, sponsors, and attendees, and an openness to teamwork and collaboration. 

  • Promotion and Marketing – skilled in creative promotion and strategic marketing initiatives to drive event awareness and engagement, contributing to a memorable event experience. 

  • People Management – must have strong leadership and team management experience and know how to foster a positive and motivated team environment 

  • Networking – enthusiasm for leveraging your robust professional network. The ability to engage sponsors and partners that enhance the event’s impact and reach are essential. 

  • Project Management proficiency in project management with the ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple event-related projects simultaneously.
