Description:

The Volunteer Experience Lead is part of the North America Operating Board Engagement team*. The Lead will focus on implementing strategy for supporting and enhancing the experience of our volunteers. This will be achieved by leveraging current volunteers in roles and working on a mentoring and/or buddy system so new volunteers know and understand their responsibilities and can get help when needed. This role will work closely with the region leads in support of these new volunteers and ensure the “on-boarding” is done in a timely manner.  This role will also work with regions to identify new and varied volunteer roles that cater to a range of interests and skill sets while defining the ROI of the roles. The role will assess and analysis the current volunteer recognition initiatives and make recommendations for modifications.

This role will report directly to the North America Operating Board Director of Engagement and works closely with HBA staff. This position will work to align roles and members for growth opportunities and skill building across the HBA volunteer positions.   

Key Responsibilities:

        Inform, implement, and align the strategic plan,

        Liaison and create a community across region volunteer experience presidents to leverage best practices and create efficiencies, including monthly meetings to allow for regular knowledge share across North America.

        Participates in meetings with new volunteers and on-boarding sessions as appropriate.

        Leverage data on past and existing volunteers to enhance the volunteer experience.

        Assist in establishing succession planning process and addressing needed efficiencies in same.

Time commitment: 5-10 hours per month

* The HBA NA Operating board Engagement team leaders play key roles in developing and implementing strategic plans for engagement (1) look to increase/enhance the membership experience (2) to increase the sense of belonging among members and increase the number of volunteers across the organization.



Criteria - To be eligible for this role, you must have previous HBA board experience.
