HBA's regions are led by centers of excellence and their committee members, who work to create the member experience within their local geography. By working as a team in a specific functional area, committees accomplish the chapter's goals in the areas of:
- Membership and volunteer engagement: to engage and orient new members, practice radical hospitality and introduce HBA to Corporate Partner employees; to place volunteers in suitable and satisfactory roles, track committee members and recognize outstanding volunteers
- Marketing and Communications: to market/promote chapter events, communications with members and social media
- Programming: to develop event content, plan event logistics and secure venues/liaise with sponsor venues during event planning
- Corporate relations: business development: selling the HBA value proposition to potential prospects, engaging past sponsor companies in continued sponsorship and/or new Corporate Partnerships; corporate engagement: engaging existing Corporate Partner company locations within the region and locally with the goal to build “HBA inside” that organization (a precursor to HBA’s Ambassador Program), encourage employee participation with HBA and seek/coordinate sponsored venues and/or sponsorships to meet regional/chapter event needs.
